Buyers want to relax in their very own Spa-throom…

Over the past few years we have experienced an evolution in our homes – bathrooms, once a necessity of everyday living, they are now looked upon as a place to relax, a retreat from the stresses and strains of modern day living.
 
No longer is it adequate for a home to have one good sized family bathroom; buyers now expect a substantial family home to have at least one en-suite, equipped with his and her sinks, shower and luxury bath, one family bathroom and a downstairs toilet.
 
The prospect of having to update or a change a bathroom can be very off-putting to potential buyers, so it’s important to get it right if you are looking to market your home.
 
Savvy buyers not only want his and hers bathrooms, but they also want under floor heating, heated walls where you can dry your towels, and fridges where creams can be kept from going off.  In top end houses, as well as an all-around sound system, anti-fogging mirrors, open or gas fires and dimmer switches are also desirable.
 
There is also a growing phase to have a ‘spa-throom’, this is where the bathroom and bedroom are integrated into one, and a glass screen is filled with gas to conceal the bathroom at the flick of a switch. Cubicles inside the bathroom to house toilets are also a plus.
 
It’s also important to think about the shape of your new free standing bath; oval, egg shaped, brass, traditional; this once practical and functioning room in a home now takes a great deal of planning.
