Champion your home’s interior with a taste of Rio

The Olympic games are into the first week and there have been spectacular highs and lows for the British Olympic team so far. We were delighted to hear the news that another Goodfellow with Daley bought back Bronze in the Men’s synchronized diving platform.

This year’s interior design is all about bold tropical prints - pops of bright reds, yellows, vivid greens transformed into jungle patterns, palm trees, butterflies and flamingo across soft furnishings and furniture. This trend allows you to get brave with quirky fruit shaped accessories such as pineapples available in all different forms including tea light holders and ice coolers. If you feel like just adding a taste of the tropics Very.co.uk have these bright floral cushions.

Our taste for the tropics doesn’t stop there –wallpaper manufacturers have also updated 80s classic palm design with geometric patterns, making it seem all again possible to adore this previously outdated faux-pas, check out Cole and Son’s Deco Palm Wallpaper, Yellow, 105/8035.

They have also created a fun and vibrant vivid green palm wallpaper - used from wall to ceilings in small rooms, such as a cloakroom it can really transform us to another world – reminding us that bold really can be beautiful.

If you fancy introducing a bit more of a subdued Rio into your home’s interior, then Homebase has this gorgeous Julian McDonald Honolulu White Ice Wallpaper in a combination of different more neutral colours enabling you to create a more subtle interior statement.

If you’re more of a flamingo fan, then Cole and Co has created this modern take on the old style prints – think flamingo meets Gaudi - Flamingos Wallpaper, Grey / Neon, 66/6042 (featured in photo).

If you feel like bringing a bit of jungle rock into your home how about buying this jungle pattern vintage inspired record player

Complete this style with some bamboo style accessories and some tropical pot plants.
