As soon as the weather turns hot we find that we are looking for cooling drinks to replenish our thirst, so here are a few homemade BBC Good Food recipes you can make for you and your family:
Homemade lemonade
This is such a classic recipe but it is also inexpensive and delicious, so it had to be on the list.
You will need 3 unwaxed lemons, 140g of caster sugar and 1 litre of cold water. Place the lemons, sugar and half the water in a food processor and blend. Then sieve into a bowl, squeezing out any left over juice and then add the rest of the water, chill and then serve in a jug.
Raspberry cordial
You will need:

  • 500g raspberries
  • 500g caster sugar
  • 3 tbsp red wine vinegar

Elderflower, lemon & vanilla cordial

Homemade Elderflower cordial is very popular so we checked out this alternative.

  • 2 unwaxed organic lemons, halved, plus a strip of peel
  • 1 vanilla pod, seeds reserved
