Public transport

The location has a best of both worlds feel to it being within easy reach of the M25 and around a 30 minute commute to London Waterloo and London Victoria railway stations.

Schools

Many people choose to move to the area because of the quality and choice of schools.  There are state and independent schools including boarding schools such as Epsom College.  Rosebery and Glyn provide excellent High School education in Epsom, along with Howard of Effingham in Bookham.  A number of primary schools have been rated Good and Excellent by Ofsted – check out their individual website pages for more details.

Local Amenities

The Surrey Downs, Box Hill and surrounding countryside have been listed as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and they are also home to a number of National Trust properties including Polesden Lacey near Bookham and Hatchlands in East Clandon which is close to the cathedral town of Guildford.
Guildford Spectrum offers a number of activities such as bowling, ice skating and swimming in a modern complex with plenty of parking.


Ashtead maintains its village feel, with a main high street of useful shops, cafes and restaurants.  Lower Ashtead has a duck pond and green with the railway station and lots of open space.  With Ashtead Common on one side, and Ashtead Park on the other, there’s an abundance of choice for walking and exploring the local countryside woodland trails which is great for families, mountain bikers and dog walkers alike.


Epsom is home to the racecourse and the Derby – the racecourse puts on many events during the year – from pop concerts and evening races, to antique fairs and wedding fairs.
