Buy a new home with Help-to-Buy

The latest data from the CML, Council of Mortgage lenders has shown that first-time buyers have access to loans since the housing crash in 2008. In fact for the first time in 20 years, loans to first time buyers have outstripped those offered to house-movers. Loans were up by 24% on a monthly basis – a total of 33,330 house purchases were completed in June compared to 27,600 in the previous month with 33,900 loans to home movers up from 26,400 in May - an increase of 28%.

This improvement in first-time buyers getting onto the property ladder is partly due to new Government incentives such as the Help- to-Buy scheme which can has enabled some first-time buyers to purchase a new property with as little as a 5% deposit.
