March 31st 2016
By: Melanie

If you live in Surrey you will probably appreciate how lucky we are living in some of the most amazing countryside in the UK whilst still being only a short distance from the capital. Exploring London with the kids is a great thing to do in the Easter holidays when the weather can still be very variable. So we here are our favourite Easter London picks…

Warner Brothers Studio Tour  London – the making of Harry Potter

Although this tour is not cheap at a £85 for a family of four, The Warner Brother’s Studio tour is a great way for fans of any age to enjoy all things Hogwarts. This tour brings together the sets and designs for the movie on a gigantic scale. Visitors can wind there way past the wizard chess through to the Hogwarts Great Hall which lasts for around three hours, it will then end with a 1:24 scale model of the school and grounds.

Between the 25th March and the 17th April you will be able to visit Hagrid in his ground keepers cottage. For more information please visit their website.

The Horniman Museum in Forest Hill

This anthropological museum is a traditional natural history site, set in 16 acres of landscaped gardens. Visitors will be able to enjoy the real exhibits, including a real stuffed walrus, with not a computer touch screen in site.

There is also a nature trail, and during the Easter holidays they have a Family Fun session where children can join in for free and participate in craft activities this Easter holiday inspired by their new exhibition Dinosaurs: Monster Families and the beginning of Spring.
Every day except Sun/Wed/Sat from 28 March 2016 To 8 April 2016 from 11 am to 2.45. For more information http://www.horniman.ac.uk/
