Escape the Capital and move to Ashtead, Surrey…

This month the Guardian revealed that ‘Let’s move to Ashtead in Surrey’ is becoming the new ‘commuter burb’, due to fact that it is quieter than its neighbours Epsom and Leatherhead.

Other highlights are the rows upon rows of chestnut trees, great Indian takeaways, decent foody pubs, fast trains to Waterloo and easy access to the M25.

Ashtead also offers a real mix of new and old charm; 1920’s semi detached houses, placed near to medieval houses, one in particular that the Guardian describes as being ‘straight out of The Hobbit’.

There are also some great schools, including the primary schools Greville and St. Peter’s which have been classed as ‘good’ by Ofsted and Barnet Wood Infants and St.Giles’ Church of England Infants receiving ‘outstanding.’ As well as great primary schools there are some superb secondary schools with St Andrew’s Catholic also receiving ‘outstanding’ and Rosebery in Epsom and Therfield in Leatherhead are both ‘good’.

Ashtead in a nut shell offers convenience, peace and quiet, countryside served up in abundance, and two popular parks, Ashtead and Horton Park.

If you would like to escape from the capital and are looking for quieter family life in Ashtead, we currently have five, 5 bedroom, high-spec homes for sale, in a quiet cul-de-sac, within easy walking distance of Ashtead and Leatherhead train station, priced from £1,000,000.
