Half Term Fun in Surrey

Whether you’ve got little ones or teenagers, half term and a week off school means they need occupying as well as having some time just to chill out. If you’re lucky enough to live in Surrey, there’s a lot of choice, either staying locally or day trips to London or the coast.

Here are a few of the different things we have found, some will coincide with Halloween – dressing up is optional!

Chessington Garden Centre is pulling out all the stops this year, with a spooky zoo and Halloween circus, there’s all kinds of things to enjoy:

Woodcote Green Garden Centre and Nurseries are putting on a bewitched magical Halloween show – you can book online for tickets – or visit their website here - there’s always lots to look at and with the coffee shop and restaurant there, it’s a great place to catch up and meet friends.
If you’re feeling brave, there’s a Ghost Tour of Guildford – no need to book, just turn up and enjoy – details here

Bocketts Farm in Fetcham always has something going on – with special events running during school holidays.  With Wizards and Witches week during half term – it’s great whatever the weather and has indoor as well as outdoor play areas

If you fancy a trip to London, there’s a multitude of things to do – choosing just a couple to suggest was a bit tricky!

The National Maritime Museum has a whole host of activities and things to see – with a giant map (and free wifi!) it’s definitely worth a trip

The V&A Museum of Childhood is free and has lots of hands on things for children to do, as well as a café to enjoy after your visit  There are some organised activities during half term, as well as the regular exhibits.

If you haven’t been to the M&M store, then make time to visit this year – it’s a fun shop with some photo opportunities on each level of the store, and of course, lots of chocolate!
