If you are a fan of the marathon and are in training for the Surrey Half Marathon on the 8th March 2015, keep on keeping on. The Surrey Half Marathon is the biggest closed-road half marathon in Surrey and is now running from its new permanent home in Woking Leisure Centre.
It is always amazing to see 6,000 people of all running abilities out enjoying the 21km loop on closed scenic roads through the Surrey countryside.  There will be 12 bands and 4 water stations along the route which will keep runners motivated and hydrated. The runners will also benefit from chip timing this year, a free mobile phone app, post-race nutrition and great community support along the route.
More and more we are seeing parallel events for the youngsters and this year’s Surrey Half Marathon will see the kids participate in a 2km closed-road run starting and finishing under the main race gantry. All finishers will receive a medal.
If you have already registered to take part why not take a look at the Charity Partners: Woking Sam Beare, WWF, Harrison’s Fund and Shooting Star CHASE. All four charities offer runners great support during training and on race day. To find out more about the event take a look at –
Road closure details are available on the Surrey Half website, so if you live in the local area and want to avoid the marathon, you can see if the event might affect your travel on Sunday 8th March
