Sharing the love at Nonsuch Mansion

Nonsuch Mansion and its park in the heart of Cheam Village has had a truly colourful history. It was thought that the Mansion, formerly known as Non Park House was built mid-eighteenth century, around 1736 by Joseph Thompson junior, however it was enlarged to its current size by Jeffrey Wyatt between 1802-06.

Nonsuch Palace was a rambling magnificent building with gilded towers and spires once situated on the site, and home to King Henry the 8th, who built the Palace in quest for privacy, but was unfortunately demolished and sold to pay off debt by the Duchess of Cleveland who sold it and its contents to pay off gambling debts amounting to £20,000 or the equivalent of £2.6m at 2008 prices.

However today the historical Nonsuch Mansion which is close in proximity to London and yet tucked away in Cheam Village is now used as a wedding venue, and has been recently shortlisted by the UK Wedding Awards. The UK Wedding Awards recognise and reward key companies who they say ‘help make the journey from just engaged to married couples as fun and magical as possible’.

If you are planning on moving into a new home with your spouse or partner and want to live near and enjoy Nonsuch park, then Goodfellows Cheam has this lovely property which enjoys a Central Cheam Village location. It’s an exceptionally large house with flexible accommodation and one of the most convenient locations Cheam Village can offer.
