Had a very difficult attempt to sell the house with a different agent for multiple reasons - then we went to Kerry at Goodfellows who made the whole process a lot less stressful - she valued the property correctly thus allowing a larger footfall through the door of potential buyers and eventual sale. She then helped manage the communication between myself and the conveyancing team to help push things along - this was all at the end of a three year court battle with my ex-partner to get the house on the market in the first place! Don't be sucked in by other agents false promises of a larger sale price - you will only end up having to reduce it, potentially more than once and endure a long winded process and likelyhood of few viewings and no buyer - Goodfellows know the market, know how to sell a property effectively and are honest from the off.

On the day we decided we would be looking into Estate Agents, I noted the boards on my journey to my mum's house. Goodfellows stood out, as did another and I popped in and spoke to Kerry and made a call to the other one. I feel business is very much about people. Kerry was friendly, knowledgeable and professional. She called to the house later and both my elderly mum and I felt she listened, she knew her stuff, she was encouraging and informative about Goodfellows procedure and the local market and more importantly the clients looking to buy. It was my mum's house to sell (moving to rented) and she spoke to HER. The guy from the other one, spent too long waffling, barely looked at my mum, was very negative about the fact the house deeds were still in joint names although my dad had passed away years ago, made it seem like a court case to sort it out. He poked at the boiler and knocked a cover off the bottom of it and left it lying on the shelf. Needless to say I messaged him to say thanks but decided to go elsewhere. Kerry arranged an open house for Saturday 14th December. She said her clients were looking despite Christmas coming up. We had about six appointments booked in and by Tuesday 17th had a buyer. The whole process completed on 28th March. The fees seem a lot to pay over after such a short process but honestly it was as painless as selling a property can be. Nobody works for free! The communication was good, the staff were great to deal with and the house sold quickly at the price Kerry had suggested we put it on for. And the fact that the deeds still had my dad's name on.... not a problem... in any way. Goodfellows were also recommended to me by a friend, who actually did have big hurdles to climb but she said Kerry and the staff were great to deal with through all of it. But if I'm honest with you I'd already decided. In the words of the film, I think Kerry had me at hello.

We’ve been on quite a journey with this one! When we first decided to put our property on the market, we spoke to a lot of different estate agents. Out of all of them, only two really stood out for their professionalism and care Goodfellows and one other company.
