A colourful new therapy…

If you are looking for a new creative hobby, then the latest craft trend to hit the UK is adult colouring-in. So if you have enjoyed a sneaky moment of colouring-in of your child’s colouring book, you can now enjoy colouring-in your own adult version, as there are now so many different intricate adult colouring-in books available.
If like many people across the globe, you have become addicted to Candy Crush or Flappy Bird, you will probably find that adult colouring-in books can offer a therapeutic quality that computer games cannot.
In France, publishers have sold over 350,000 therapeutic colouring-in books, from medieval art, psychedelic patterns and amazing gardens, they have even beaten sales of cookery books.
Colouring-in clubs are also popping up across the UK, offering participants the chance to unwind and enjoy the therapeutic offerings of colouring-in. We couldn’t find a colouring-in club in Surrey, but if you want to enjoy this new craft then there are several colouring-in books available online.
Here is one we found on Amazon: Secret Garden: An Inky Treasure Hunt and Colouring Book. The retail price is £9.95 but they are selling it for £6.97. They state: ‘Tumble down the rabbit hole and find yourself in an inky black-and-white wonderland. This interactive activity book takes you on a ramble through a secret garden created in beautifully detailed pen-and-ink illustrations all waiting to be brought to life through colouring, but each also sheltering all kinds of tiny creatures just waiting to be found. And there are also bits of the garden that still need to be completed by you. Appealing to all ages, the intricately-realized world of the Secret Garden is both beautiful and inspirational.’
