Home ownership for first time buyers...

A recent survey revealed that people looking to buy a home think that it is a more important priority than getting married or having children.

The survey was based on a 1-10 score, with 10 being the highest in importance and zero being the least important and 85% of people who took part in the survey stated that owning a house was eight out of ten or above in importance.

Compared with only 56% giving as much importance to marriage and 57% to having children. Following closely from general happiness, 92%, was home ownership in the area in which people live, 81% and job security at 75%.

However buying a new home could be more achievable than people think, as the sum needed to put down as a deposit has been greatly reduced due to the Government’s funding for lending scheme, which has allowed mortgage lenders to offer 95% LTV mortgages to first-time buyers of new homes.
